On October 11, 2004, we had the opportunity to investigate the Alvarado Cemetery outside of Georgetown, Colorado. This cemetery dates back to the mid to early 1800's. It's a very quiet and secluded cemetery, although occasionally you can hear traffic from Interstate 70 which is nearby. The scenery around the cemetery is spectacular.
The mountain town of Georgetown was once featured on the TV show, "Sightings". On this particular show, Peter James, a well known psychic and medium, was featured. On the TV show, Peter James toured quite a few buildings in Georgetown. He called Georgetown, "One of the most haunted towns in North America".
Almost every building he visited, had one or more ghosts or spirits in it.
We have heard rumors that this secluded cemetery, outside the city limits, was supposedly haunted. We figured since the town of Georgetown was so haunted, perhaps there was some truth to the rumors of the cemetery being haunted.
So, we decided to investigate.

Even though the weather that day was clear down in Denver, once we arrived at the cemetery (elevation, around 9,000 feet above sea level), we found the weather to be over-cast and it was quite cold. Little did we know, a major cold front was fast approaching.
We began our investigation as usual by saying our protection prayers and invoking our guardian angels and spirit guides to protect us and guide us through the cemetery.
Although some portions of the cemetery are currently in use, most of it was not. We had to follow and walk on various trails that led through the cemetery. We noticed that many of the older graves had started to collapsed. We were careful to stay on the trails where possible.
As we started to walk through the cemetery, a ghost made itself known to Kat. It was a male, and told Kat his name was "Eddie" or "Edward". Eddie was very insistent that we remain on the trails that run through the cemetery. He stayed around us for a while, but as it became darker. he seemed to pull his energy away from us, and was no longer with us. We don't know why he left.

As we continued to walk around, neither one of us seemed to pick up any other activity in the cemetery, except that is, when dusk came. To read about our strange experiences at this cemetery, click here.
We continued to shoot random photos around the area.

Our Conclusion:
We definitely believe after our investigation here, that this old historic cemetery is quite active.
Not only did we get many positive photos, but we did experience some unusual happenings as well.
We do hope to return here in the near future for a second investigation.
